"Order up!" The AI Kitchen is open, and Chef Kevin Kieller and Chef David Maldow are serving up a deep dive into Zoom’s massive May 2026 feature drop! In this episode, the Chefs analyze Zoom’s strategic decision to embrace third-party AIs rather than building a "walled garden." They explain how Zoom is leveraging MCP (Model Context Protocol) to allow tools like Anthropic's Claude to access your Zoom meeting summaries, while simultaneously letting Zoom AI Companion pull data from Salesforce, Workday, Google Drive, and OneDrive. The menu also features a look at the powerful "My Notes by Zoom" app, which acts as a personal desktop note-taker capable of capturing transcripts and system audio from competitor platforms like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, effectively making Zoom the ultimate repository for all your meeting data. Chef Kevin demonstrates the enhanced Zoom Workflows builder, showing how users can easily automate post-meeting tasks like updating Jira or pushing summaries to Salesforce without needing to code. Finally, Chef David praises Zoom CMO Kimberly Storin’s brilliant marketing of an internal AI "SWAT Team" dedicated to optimizing Zoom's presence inside LLMs, and the Chefs give their seal of approval on the rebranding of Zoom Docs to "Zoom Canvas." The AI Chefs are back from an exclusive, invite-only analyst event! Chef Kevin Kieller and Chef David Maldow just returned from the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, where they spent two days with the top executives at Zoom for the "Zoom Perspectives" event. In this episode, the Chefs break down the key takeaways and new messaging from Zoom. They analyze the core theme of "Conversation to Completion", how Zoom is moving beyond just hosting great video meetings to using Agentic AI to help you prepare for, execute, and follow up on those meetings. The Chefs also discuss Zoom's impressive growth in the SMB sector (now 40% of their revenue), their federated approach to AI models (which allows Zoom AI Companion to outperform standalone LLMs by leveraging your meeting data), and how strategic acquisitions like Workvivo, BrightHire, and Bonsai are opening up new entry points for the platform. For over 10 years, bringing remote guests into my professional streams via Zoom was a nightmare. I was "screen scraping", which means cropping windows, losing resolution, and praying that a pop-up notification or a resized window wouldn't ruin my live broadcast. Those days are finally over. In this video, I'm stepping out of my "presenter" role to talk to you as a stream producer. I'll show you how Zoom's Emmy-award-winning broadcast tools have completely changed my production workflow. We'll clear up the confusion about what these tools actually are (no, they don't replace OBS), who they are for (from Twitch streamers to TV news), and the two professional ways to finally get clean, high-resolution, isolated video feeds of your Zoom participants directly into your streaming software. Stop struggling with hacks and workarounds. It's time to stream the right way. NOTE: Zoom Rooms currently supports custom AV features (like NDI) on Mac and Windows based devices. Support on android devices (like the one shown in the video) is pending. 0:00 Intro 0:23 What IS Zoom Broadcast? 1:21 Who Is This For? 2:06 Why Zoom Won an Emmy 2:27 The "Screen Scraping" Problem 4:37 Why We Stuck With Zoom 5:33 What This Tool ISN'T 6:35 Two Paths to Pro Feeds 6:59 Path 1: Streamer Choice (Zoom ISO) 9:28 Path 2: Enterprise Choice (Zoom Rooms) 13:26 Why You Need a Mac for Zoom ISO 14:53 Final Thoughts Note: This video is sponsored by Zoom. Not all AI chatbots are created equal, especially for business professionals! In this video, I break down the best AI assistants and rank them based on their real-world capabilities. This isn’t about which AI is the smartest, it’s about which ones actually help you get work done efficiently. 🚀 What’s in this Tier List? ✅ A & B Tiers: AI tools that integrate directly with your work in real time (Zoom AI, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini) ✅ C & D Tiers: Great chatbots, but they require copy-pasting or file uploads to see your work (ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek) ✅ Honorable Mentions: AI-driven business tools that don’t quite fit the “conversational assistant” category (Cisco AI, RingCentral AI) ✅ S Tier: No AI assistant qualifies yet! To reach S Tier, an AI needs to be a unified assistant that follows the conversation seamlessly between apps. Right now, switching from Copilot in Word to Copilot in Outlook means starting over. Once an AI truly remembers and connects across all your work apps, it’ll earn S Tier status. 💡 What do you think? Would you rank them differently? Did I miss any? In this entertaining and thought-provoking discussion, David Maldow and Dave Michels swap their usual roles to debate the current state of hybrid events. David, who is typically optimistic, takes a critical stance, while Dave, known for his skepticism, offers a positive outlook. The conversation centers around three major event platforms—Zoom Events, Webex Events, and RingCentral Events. Both David and Dave agree that these platforms offer excellent solutions to the common issues plaguing hybrid events, and they’ve been impressed by their demos. However, their opinions diverge on the adoption and effectiveness of these platforms. David expresses concern over the slow adoption and the risk of reverting to poorly executed events, while Dave remains hopeful, believing that the platforms are making progress despite a gradual uptake. Tune in for a humorous yet insightful debate as David and Dave explore the future of hybrid events and whether we’re on the right track or heading back to the past.
