Insight on choosing the best display technology, a new operating system for digital signage and a new visualization center opportunity are just three of dozens of interesting happenings during the first day of InfoComm 2016 taking place this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Here is a peek at five newsworthy notes from the conference floor on opening day:

Richard McPherson and Benjamin Hardy from NEC Display Solutions of America hosted an informative education session on “How to Determine the Right Display Technology.” Here’s one tidbit from the session: It’s critical for digital signage providers to help customers define what is wanted in order to decide what solution is needed. Providers must also assist customers in answering the question, “what’s gained from adding a particular technology and what aspects of it should be considered before installation?”
