8×8 Issued New Conferencing and Meeting Patent by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office


December 18, 2014, San Jose, CA – 8×8, Inc., a provider of cloud based unified communications, contact center and collaboration services, today announced that it has been awarded a new patent related to its Virtual Meeting technologies.

On December 16, 2014, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued United States Patent number 8,914,734 entitled “Web-enabled Conferencing and Meeting Implementations with a Subscription-based Model.”

The new patent relates to, among other things, a meeting and conferencing system implemented with a server arrangement configured to provide a web-based meeting-group subscription option to potential meeting participants.

Since its establishment, 8×8 has been awarded ninety-eight (98) United States patents covering a variety of voice and video communications, signaling, processing and storage technologies.
