PanaCast 2 Camera with PanaCast Experience software service enables Panoramic-4K resolution, delivering an individualized and natural video experience for deeper collaboration and higher meeting productivity
March 8, 2016, Orlando, FL – Altia Systems® – a Gartner® Inc. 2015 Cool Vendor in Unified Communications – today announced that the award-winning PanaCast 2 Panoramic-4K video camera is now integrated with PanaCast Experience software service. PanaCast Experience is a unique video collaboration solution that adds personal choice for all participants in Intel Unite and Microsoft Skype for Business meetings for a fully immersive video experience with “being there” visual clarity. The integration of the PanaCast 2 camera brings Panoramic-4K video to both of these popular collaboration apps, letting participants simultaneously see everything and “look around” the meeting room as if they were there. Until now, these apps have been limited to HD or lower resolution and cameras with single-user control.

PanaCast 2 is the first video camera to bring a natural human visual perspective to web and video conferencing. With its 180° wide, 54° tall field of view and Panoramic-4K resolution (3840 x 1080 pixels/frame), PanaCast 2 delivers exceptionally clear video. It helps people in web meetings collaborate more effectively, improving productivity. Its Plug-and-Play USB interface enables fast and easy set up of meetings.
PanaCast Experience software service uniquely enables every participant to interact with their video streams as they like, all at the same time, without disturbing each other, just as if they were physically in the room. This is not possible with mechanical PTZ cameras, which limit participant control to one person at a time. Participants can virtually “look around” the room by navigating through the PanaCast video streams with familiar multi-touch gestures on their personal devices to create their own views. In real time, they can scan across the room, see who is there, or focus in on the whiteboard or speaker.
“Intel Unite and Skype for Business users can now enjoy the benefits of Panoramic-4K video thanks to the integration of the PanaCast 2 camera with the PanaCast Experience software service,” said Naveed Alam, Vice President of Software Engineering at Altia Systems. “Now, in addition to getting a complete view of the meeting room, each remote participant can view the meeting with superior visual clarity, enabling them to see details that they couldn’t clearly see before, such as the participants and the whiteboard. Panoramic-4K doubles digital zoom without pixelation as compared to traditional HD video. This is a great addition to campus-wide huddle room deployments.”
The PanaCast Experience consists of an on-premises or cloud-based PanaCast Video Server (PVS) and PanaCast Apps installed on client PCs and smart phones. To learn more, visit www.getpanacast.com/panacast-experience.
