Altia Systems Announces PanaCast Experience Now Integrates with Microsoft Lync, Skype for Business, Pilot Tested by Intel & JDSU

PanaCast Experience is a disruptive video solution that gives Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business users a fully-immersive video perspective from all the PanaCast cameras in a Lync/Skype for Business meeting, letting them see everything in the meeting rooms as if they were there in person. Participants can virtually “look around” the room by navigating through the PanaCast video streams with familiar multi-touch gestures on their personal devices to create their own views from anywhere there is an Internet connection. In real time, they can scan across the room to see who is there or focus in on the whiteboard or speaker – just as they would do if they were physically present in the meeting. PanaCast Experience is available for Apple^® iOS™ and Google^® Android^® smart phones or tablets, as well as Microsoft^® Windows^® and Mac^® OS X^® PCs.

The PanaCast UX/UI is familiar to Lync users: cameras are assigned Microsoft Lync IDs and can be added to “Meet Now” or scheduled conferences, just like other Lync users. The PanaCast Experience consists of PanaCast cameras, an on-premises or cloud-based PanaCast Video Server (PVS) and PanaCast Apps installed on client PCs and smartphones. Any session can run up to 5 cameras with 50 concurrent participants, each of whom can “look around” on their own without disturbing others.

Several Enterprise customers have projects underway with PanaCast Experience and Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business to improve productivity, with the goal of campus-wide deployment.
