Compass Business Solutions and GameSalad Inc. sponsor the Future of Learning Scholarship for High School and College Students.
August 19, 2014, Henderson, NV – Compass Business Solutions develops and delivers courses that teach students about implementing, supporting and using communication solutions, and that also prepare students for Cisco and other certification tests. GameSalad Inc. is a leading provider of mobile game development tools with over 700,000 developers. They have paired up to sponsor The Future of Learning Scholarship which focuses on a student’s perspective on how games can be utilized for learning.
“It is important to explore how new technologies can enable learning,” stated Jules Trono, CEO of Compass. “But more importantly a student has to be interested while learning to truly retain it. Each generation uses a different approach to successfully learn, and we are interested in seeing how the upcoming workforce finds a effective learning approach.” Compass offers job and vocational training to its students, focusing on certifications that are important to both students for job knowledge and employers for hiring criteria. Compass has been sponsoring this scholarship since it began in 2012.
“GameSalad’s tools have been embraced by the educational community across the country,” said Steve Felter, CEO of GameSalad. “By sponsoring this scholarship we are providing a vehicle for students to show us how they like to learn using easily created iPhone, iPad, Android or HTML5 learning games without the need to code.” GameSalad’s toolset has been accepted into classrooms, helping educators to broaden STEM education, decode the fundamentals of programming and software development, and prepare their students for the rapidly changing digital world.
The Future of Learning Scholarship will be awarded January 31, 2015, based on submissions received by January 15, 2015. More details about the scholarship can be found at http://borderless-learning.com/future-of-learning/.
