Digital Samba Celebrates 12th birthday and Reacquires its US Web Conferencing Business

The software company Digital Samba continues to grow at over 25%, twelve years after its initial launch.

August 25, 2015, Barcelona – This month, the software company Digital Samba, the creator of the OnSync online web conferencing tool, celebrates its twelfth birthday, with the reacquisition of its US business. The company was founded by Jorge Maiquez, Robert Strobl and Matthias Kritz in 2003 and incubated in the prestigious start-up hub Barcelona Activa in Barcelona, Spain.

Amongst strong competition, which has developed as a result of the rapid growth of web conferencing services, Digital Samba differentiates through its white-label strategy. Digital Samba’s OnSync technology now powers around 20 web conferencing providers across the globe. “To put this into perspective, when we incorporated our company, nobody had ever heard about Skype. Our experience, coupled with our business focus on serving CSPs puts us in a unique position to serve our segment like no one else,” says CTO Jorge Maiquez, who oversees technical development of the platform, and adds: “Digital Samba has now squarely positioned itself as the world leader in white label web conferencing.”

Accordingly, the company’s revenue is increasing, showing a steady growth of over 25% per year, thus putting the company several points ahead of industry growth, which is forecast at 16% CAGR by Wainhouse Research and Frost & Sullivan.

In spite of numerous advances by investment companies, the founders remain in full control as equal shareholders, unusual for a tech company after 12 years. “We believe in organic growth, fueled by tangible market success. The reacquisition of our business in the United States underlines the value of our strategy and we’re delighted to regain a more direct relationship with our customers and control of our revenue streams,” explains Robert Strobl, Digital Samba CMO.

Digital Samba has reacquired its business from channel partner Access Fibre Solutions in May 2015. Many prominent customers such as NYIT, NYIF, Pearson, Armstrong and key web conferencing service providers and telecommunications companies are part of the growing US portfolio.

The company continues to reinvest in its technology. “We know how important it is for our partners to stay ahead of the game when it comes to presenting a top-notch product to their customers,“ emphasizes Matthias Kritz, COO of Digital Samba “which is why we keep our eye on the ball and reinvest heavily into product development. We run a tight ship, packed with A-players and our rapid-release product schedule is entirely customer driven.”

“We’re very excited about the future,” adds Maiquez, “we have huge improvements and new products in our pipeline. We have only one message to our existing and new customers: We’re about to experience a revolution in online communications. It’s never been a better time to be a Digital Samba OnSync customer”.
