Single click video collaboration integrated within the Intel Unite* solution enables “being there” experience, improving collaboration and productivity
November 3, 2015, San Diego — Altia Systems® – a Gartner Inc. 2015 Cool Vendor in Unified Communications – today announced the first release of the PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite*solutionat the Intel Global Capital Summit, Grand Hyatt Hotel, San Diego. PanaCast – the world’s first Panoramic-4K video experience – is the first video collaboration capability integrated into the Intel Unite solution.
The Intel Unite solution transforms a conference room into a smart and connected meeting space with enhanced security and an easy way to share content wirelessly. PanaCast enhances collaboration with a personal human visual experience for all participants. Early users report that meetings with the PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite solution are more natural and engaging, helping participants achieve better business results faster.
The PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite solution consists of the PanaCast 2 video camera and the PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite software solution. PanaCast 2 is the world’s first Panoramic-4K Plug-and-Play USB video camera. With its 180° wide, 54° tall field of view and Panoramic-4K resolution (3840X1080), PanaCast 2 delivers exceptionally clear video with a human visual perspective. With the PanaCast 2 camera, remote participants can see the entire conference room and everyone within it. Its Panoramic-4K resolution allows remote viewers to see details in the meeting room that they can’t with other cameras.
Users initiate PanaCast Experience with one click on the PanaCast Plug-in in the Intel Unite app. The PanaCast video window automatically opens, showing the Panoramic-4K real-time video stream from the PanaCast 2 camera.
With the PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite software solution, meeting participants can virtually “look around” the room by navigating through the PanaCast video stream with familiar multi-touch gestures on their personal devices, to create their own views instantaneously from anywhere, and without disturbing other participants. In real time, they can scan across the room to see who is there or focus in on the whiteboard or speaker – just as they would do if they were physically present in the meeting.

The PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite software solution architecture consists of:
- PanaCast Plug-in, which resides on the Intel Unite hub and sends the PanaCast icon to each participant in their Intel Unite client window. A single click on this icon launches thePanaCast® Panoramic-4K real time video stream.
- PanaCast Video Server (PVS), which handles PanaCast 2 camera video network traffic. It is intended for on-premises installation and is a fully packaged Virtual Appliance delivered as a VMDK file.
- PanaCast Stream Controller App, which sends video data from the PanaCast 2 cameras connected to the in-room mini PC with Intel Core* vPro* processor technology to the PVS server.
- PanaCast Experience client software, which gives individual users the ability to pan, tilt and zoom within the panoramic video stream. PanaCast Experience for Intel Unite client software is available for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X PCs.
