Booming growth in usage of cloud videoconferencing platforms is continuing unabated, new figures show. According to market researcher Sensor Tower, the number of combined monthly active users of Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet mobile apps is now 21 times the level of the pre-pandemic first half of 2019 and still two and half times the level achieved when the pandemic struck in the first half of 2020.
The growth comes from the behaviour of existing users and continuing downloads by new users. While new installs are below the level seen at the onset of the pandemic in Q2 2020, they are still higher than the level seen immediately prior to the pandemic in Q1 2020.
