May 3, 2017, Boston, MA and Maloy, Norway – Designed for enterprise organizations using Skype for Business who want to connect to any UC device or platform, Personal Meeting Rooms (PMRs) deliver interoperable bridging within the Skype for Business App employees use everyday. This solution is unlike anything on the market with seamless interop and native S4B notifications across any device – including video endpoints and even Cisco Spark.
FUNCTIONALITY
Countless companies are standardized across Microsoft products, but do not have the capability of connecting to SIP and H.323 video endpoints. PMRs offer interoperability to those systems in a simple and truly unique way. PMRs are functional with any standards-based SIP or H.323 including: Cisco and Spark, Polycom, Lifesize, and Logitech, and of course with Microsoft’s Skype for Business, and even consumers Skype.
Personal Meeting Rooms also support audio dial in. Part of being flexible in the video conference space is accepting both the newest technology, as well as the most traditional. At the end of the day, people want their technology to “just work”.
Personal Meeting Rooms have recording and streaming features as well.
What makes the PMR even more interesting is the built in Seevia directory. Like the PMR, Seevia is focused on making all technology work together. Seevia is a cloud-based directory that allows companies to upload their contacts once, and with automatic syncs, the directory will keep up with the internal contacts. Admin controls can lock down any addresses or rooms you don’t want searchable within directories for an extra layer of security.
SCHEDULING & JOINING MEETINGS
Skype for Business users are used to a specific way of inviting participants to meetings, so the PMR is designed to keep the workflow employees are used to. When creating a new meeting in Outlook, add the participants and/or rooms and subject in the allotted fields as always, and simply click on the “Add room info” and the PMR info is popped right into the invitation. Since every employee has their own meeting room, they know it’s always available, reducing scheduling hassles of limited capacity.
MANAGEMENT TOOL
For additional functionality options, employees can download the PMR management tool. This is a noninvasive tool with a range of functionality. The tool can either be running in the background, or can be used to customize individual rooms, including room layout options, PIN code changing, removal or additions. With this tool, users can choose to lock their rooms and accept each participants individually. The management tool can be custom branded for a smooth adoption across enterprise organizations.
IMPLEMENTATION
Launching Personal Meeting Rooms across an organization can take as little as 1 week. The Videonor support team is second to none in fine tuning products to fit an organization’s needs.
ON-PREMISE SOLUTION
While there is a clear shift to moving business operations to the cloud, there are many organizations that have invested in AV-MCU or hosted solutions that can be leveraged. Videonor’s Skype for Business Gateway gives the same interop that PMRs provide, yet works with on-prem solutions. This solution will sustain customers with on-prem servers and have an easy upgrade to Personal Meeting Rooms when the time comes for organizations to move fully to the cloud.
