My Meeting Video update turns web browsers into powerful videoconferencing systems with plugin-free, point-to-point calling
May 2, 2018, Oslo – Today Videxio announced that its cloud videoconferencing app My Meeting Video now lets you call others directly through web browsers. The way we work is changing, and this new feature makes it easy to place and receive video calls from anywhere – all without downloading a plugin.

An easy way to talk on the fly
Not all meetings are scheduled, and direct calls enable ad hoc, unplanned conversations. Just type your contact’s video address in the search bar and hit enter or tap their name in your directory to start talking. By replacing lengthy email exchanges with a quick call, users can save time, make faster decisions, and build stronger relationships with colleagues and clients. Now, direct calling is available to the masses – not just those with dedicated videoconferencing systems.
Similar to a smartphone, My Meeting Video displays recent calls including outbound, inbound, and missed. When a call comes through and the app is running in a window, a notification will appear, allowing users to accept or decline the video call. Users can even create their own “starred” list of contacts within or outside their company for fast, easy dialing.

A seamless experience across devices
The latest update also gives the desktop client a new modern, interface and even more call controls. Users can add others to a call, view the participant list, mute and disconnect others all within the app. They can also join via audio-only when calling in with a weak internet connection, or to save data traffic. Now, it’s easier to switch between devices whether meeting from a laptop, phone, or tablet within a familiar interface.
