Zoom Brings Video, Audio, and Screen Sharing to Slack’s Communications Platform
August 13, 2015, San Jose, CA – Zoom today announced that its cloud video conferencing service has integrated with Slack. This integration will allow users of Slack’s real-time messaging, archiving, and search platform to start Zoom video conferencing from the Slack interface with a single command.
Slack users will gain immediate access to Zoom’s cloud video conferencing platform to meet with other users. Zoom’s robust feature set includes:
- HD video conferencing and screen sharing with integrated audio
- Up to 25 interactive video participants standard
- Cross-platform collaboration across mobile, desktop, and conference room devices
- Advanced collaboration features such as co-annotation, whiteboarding, remote control, and recording
To install the integration, visit https://slack.com/integrations once logged in to Slack. Start Zoom in Slack by entering /zoom into the group chat field. This will create a clickable link gateway for all members of that group to join the video conference.
